Biography

Saba Tabean is a PhD student at the Advanced Instrumentation for Ion Nano-Analytics (AINA) group in the Materials Research and Technology (MRT) Department of LIST. Her research focuses on Development of Correlative Microscopy Approaches and Applications to Photovoltaics.

Prior to joining LIST, she worked as a Microscope specialist at Central laboratory of Sharif university for 2 years, where she had the opportunity to perform scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis on a wide variety of samples.

She did her Master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Characterization and Selection at Sharif University of Technology. During which she specialised in Li-ion batteries on electro chemical battery behaviour and image processing, carrying out her master thesis on “Microstructural changes associated with internal resistance of a Li-ion battery”.

She received her Bachelor in Material Science and Engineering from University of Tabriz located in her home-town Tabriz, Iran. Her bachelor’s thesis involved study of sealing properties of SOFCs (Solid Oxide Full Cells), incorporating various oxide compounds (TiO2, V2O5, K2O and B2O3).
